## Marian Taylor Rodgers Obituary
|
||||
October 3, 1928 - December 15, 2025
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
Marian Taylor Rodgers, age 97, passed away on December 15, 2025 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Frankfort, Kentucky. Marian was born in Muskegon, Michigan on October 3, 1928 to Henry and Louise Andersen. Her siblings are brothers Harold and Gordon Andersen and sister Leone Erickson. Marian married Stanley Taylor of Hanna City, Illinois on August 25, 1950. For 33 years she made her home in Peoria, IL and raised three children: Paul Taylor with wife Star of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, Daniel Taylor with wife Paulette of Lawrenceburg, and Karen Mason with husband Dale of Burlington, KY.
|
||||
|
||||
With a winning smile, and a zest for life, Marian engaged people easily and loved to share the delights of trusting in Jesus. She grew up on the "sugar sand" shores of her beloved Lake Michigan. As a young person she was very active in her home church, Olivet Evangelical Free Church and in the local community: singing on the radio, teaching Sunday school, and serving in the church. She memorized passages of scripture even into her 80's! Marian was both a natural storyteller and an engaging elementary school teacher.
|
||||
|
||||
When in 1955 Marian married Stan, she diligently enjoyed her role as his teammate in ministry. As the Lord gave Marian and Stan children, she embraced her added role with intentionality as an involved and creative mother to her three children. Marian exerted her artistic, and musical abilities, storytelling skills, her tenacity at getting a job done, and her notable generous spirit toward her family, friends, the needy, the school, women's groups, and notably Films for Christ.
|
||||
|
||||
In 1955 Stan and Marian founded Films For Christ, a non-profit film and media organization which produced several award-winning motion pictures used around the world. Upon Stan's death in 1976, Marian became director of the organization. She and her son, Paul, a Cinematography graduate from Southern Illinois University, continued the ministry in Peoria and eventually moved to the Phoenix valley in 1984, and later to Lawrenceburg. Today, under Paul's leadership, ChristianAnswers.Net has become one of the largest Christian websites in English with many foreign translations.
|
||||
|
||||
After living as an industrious widow for 20 years, Marian married George Rodgers, a retired attorney from Tempe, AZ in 1996. They were active at Grace Community Church especially by serving as activity leaders for their senior's group. George was a supportive husband and lovable grandfather to their grandchildren. He preceded her in death. By George she has two step-daughters; Kristen Fickenscher of Tempe and Carla Kentera of Tucson, AZ.
|
||||
|
||||
Marian embraced her role as grandmother and great grandmother with delight. Her descendants are numerous and enjoy the fond memories they made with their spontaneous "Spunky" grandma "Mormor". Marian has 10 grandchildren (with 1 deceased), plus 6 step-grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren. Marian's exhortation to all her children and their children all the time was, "Stay close to Jesus so he can use you right up to your very last breath on Earth."
|
||||
|
||||
A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home from 1:00 P.M. - 2:00 P.M. with Marians funeral service beginning at 2:00 P.M.
|
||||
|
||||
Burial will follow at a later date in North Limestone Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Hanna City, IL.
|
||||
|
||||
Memorial contributions are suggested to Films for Christ, 1323 Pine Meadows Drive, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342.
|
||||

## For Mormor, with Love - Eric
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
This anchor light, from our sailboat *Coconutz*, is a beacon meant to be seen from every direction, even in the darkest night. Just like Mormor's faith. An anchor light must shine brightly, visible for miles, to keep others safe – and Mormor’s love for God, and for us, shone just as brightly, reaching out to us no matter where in the world we were.
|
||||
|
||||
She was always praying for us, a constant light guiding us home. She loved the water, the lakes and the ocean, and that love lives on in me. Like this light, her spirit couldn't be hidden; it radiated warmth, hope, and the unwavering peace she found in Jesus.
|
||||
|
||||
*“Let your light so shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16 LSB).* Mormor’s light *did* shine and treated everyone with a selfless love that can only be found in Jesus. And now, though she's sailed on ahead, her love remains a guiding light for us all.

Well, it finally happened! We’ve been talking about getting out on the water for ages, and this July we finally made it happen with a fantastic canoeing trip, courtesy of Canoe Kentucky. And honestly? It was even better than we imagined.
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
### Getting Started with Canoe Kentucky
|
||||
|
||||
We’re lucky to have a great connection with our neighbor, Lou, who drives the bus for [Canoe Kentucky](https://www.canoeky.com/) (CKY). He's always offering to take us on a tour, and this summer the stars finally aligned. The weather was perfect, we had a free day, and the river conditions were just right. So, we jumped at the chance!
|
||||
|
||||
We met up with Lou and his granddaughter at the [CKY base](https://www.google.com/maps/place/7323+Peaks+Mill+Rd,+Frankfort,+KY+40601/@38.2981678,-84.8125257,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x88420e62df85656d:0xa61f51f6d1d0edc8!8m2!3d38.2981678!4d-84.8125257!16s%2Fg%2F11bw3_w5f2?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDkxNi4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D), picked out our bright red canoes, and hopped on the bus for a short ride to our starting point. It’s a pretty slick operation, CKY handles everything. It's great knowing everything is taken care of.

### Down the Creek We Go
|
||||
|
||||
We ended up with Jaime, Noah, and myself in one canoe, and Lou, Eve, and his granddaughter in the other. The [Elkhorn creek](https://www.canoeky.com/rentals/ekhorn-creek-trips) was beautiful. We were the last group of the day and we had the place nearly all to our selves. The scenery was really peaceful. It took us about two and a half hours to complete the trip, which was a perfect amount of time for the kids.
|
||||
|
||||
The river level was just right, high enough to keep things interesting, but not so high that it was scary for the kids. There were some really fun, quick sections that felt like little rapids. The kids absolutely loved those! For the most part though, it was a really calm and relaxing paddle.
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
### Wildlife Spotting and River Fun
|
||||
|
||||
We kept our eyes peeled for wildlife, and we weren’t disappointed! The kids were thrilled to spot many turtles basking on logs, and we even saw a couple of eagles on branches overhead. Eve was especially excited about the eagles she's been wanting to see one in the wild.
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
We also took a refreshing dip in the river, the water was cool and clear. There were a few little swimming holes along the way, perfect for a quick splash. Eve is a good swimmer and she's always looking for an opportunity to get in the water.
|
||||
|
||||
### A Perfect Family Day
|
||||
|
||||
Honestly, it was just a really good day. Simple, but really good. We spent quality time together, enjoyed the beautiful scenery, and made some great memories. It's those moments that you really cherish.

We're so excited to introduce the newest member of our farm family: Sweetie! This little ball of fluff has brought so much joy already, and we've been meaning to share her with you all.
|
||||

||||
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
Sweetie came to us from our wonderful neighbors, and she’s settled in beautifully. She's already quite used to farm life, which is fantastic! You might notice something a little different about her though, Sweetie was born without a tail! It doesn't slow her down one bit, though, she's a whirlwind of energy!
|
||||
|
||||
It's been so fun watching her interact with our other cats. She’s learning the ropes from the best, and quickly figuring out how things work around here. She’s definitely got a personality all her own, spunky, playful, and always entertaining. We could spend hours just watching her antics!
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
Eve and Noah are absolutely smitten with Sweetie. They’ve been doing a great job gently playing with her and making her feel welcome. It's so sweet to see their bond forming.
|
||||
|
||||
It's been a while since we've had a kitten running around the farm, and it's reminded us how much fun they are! Sweetie has brought a fresh burst of energy and a whole lot of love into our lives.
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
We'll be sure to share more pictures and updates on Sweetie as she grows. We're so happy to have her as part of the family!

Jamie really wanted to go camping for her birthday this year, and Eve had been asking to go *all* summer, so we decided to make it happen! We packed up the car, rounded up the kids, our furry family members (Summer the dog AND our new kitty, Sweetie!), and headed to Holly Bay campground. And let me tell you, it was exactly the birthday escape Jamie was hoping for!

||||
|
||||
## Setting Up Camp & Hitting the Water
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
We arrived at Holly Bay and quickly set up camp. Luckily, we're pretty efficient at this point, and were soon ready to enjoy the best part – the lake! Holly Bay is *beautiful* - our campsite was right next to the water, which was perfect. We brought our kayaks and paddle boards, and immediately launched them into the lake.
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
It was Eve’s first time kayaking on a bigger body of water, and she did *amazing*! She was so confident and had a blast. I even brought our sweet Summer dog along for the ride on the paddleboard with me, she loves being on the water! After a morning of paddling, we worked up an appetite and had a quick lunch before taking a dip in the lake.
|
||||
|
||||
## Lake Swimmers & Savoury S'mores!
|
||||
The kids are seriously fearless when it comes to lakes! They actually seem more comfortable swimming in open water than they do in a pool, they had an absolute blast splashing around and playing.
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
As evening approached, it was time for dinner. We had a feast! Hot dogs, pasta (thanks Mom & Dad!), and of course, s’mores! But Tanya *outdid* herself and brought savory s’mores! Think cheeses and meats you roast between crackers over the fire. Seriously delicious, a total game changer!
|
||||
|
||||
## Stargazing & Cozy Nights
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
There was supposed to be a meteor shower that night, so we all stayed up late hoping to spot some falling meteors. Unfortunately we didn’t see any, but it was still fun to hang out by the lake at night, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
It was pretty warm, even into the evening, but we managed to stay comfortable in the tent with the help of some battery-powered fans. We fell asleep listening to the sounds of the lake, and woke up, the kids had a rock skipping contest and we were ready to head home.
|
||||
|
||||
This camping trip to Holly Bay was the perfect way to celebrate Jamie's birthday. It was filled with sunshine, laughter, and making memories that we'll cherish for years to come. We can’t wait to go back!

Well, it’s been a *summer* of automotive adventures here at Willow and Lily farm. Let’s just say our vehicles decided to stage a bit of a rebellion. The Jetta just hit 120k miles needed a full service, new timing belt, water pump, fuel pump, new springs… you name it. And the Jeep? Oh, the Jeep. Let's just say the transmission decided to take not one, but *two* vacations this summer.
|
||||
|
||||
It got to the point where just *thinking* about getting in a car was stressful. Between hauling kids to activities, running errands, and keeping the farm running, we *need* reliable transportation. And after a lot of consideration, we decided it was time to add a couple of new vehicles to the family.
|
||||
|
||||
### Bringing Home a Classic: The Blue Beast
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
Let's start with the fun one. We found a 1965 Ford F-600. A flatbed conversion, painted a beautiful baby blue. And Noah, being the naming expert that he is, immediately declared it “Bluey.” It's seriously a gorgeous truck. It sounds amazing too; that old engine has a rumble that just makes you smile.
|
||||
|
||||
We got a really good deal on it, which was fantastic, but it did need some TLC. The front end was a little… loose. So, we put some new steering components and wheel parts on it to tighten things up. Finding parts for a truck this old definitely takes some effort, but it’s worth it. I love the simplicity of these older vehicles. Everything feels…fixable.
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
|
||||
We plan on using Bluey for farmers markets and displays, it’s a real head-turner and a great way to showcase what we do here. It’s also perfect for hauling heavy loads around the farm moving compost, firewood, you name it. It's just a solid, capable truck. The kids absolutely love it, and honestly, so do I.
|
||||
|

### A Modern Workhorse: The New Ram

The second new addition is a bit more…practical. We replaced the Jeep with a 2024 Ram 2500 pickup with the Cummins diesel engine. It’s a far cry from Bluey in terms of vintage charm, but it's a beast when it comes to getting things done.
|
||||
|
||||
This truck will be our daily driver and all-around farm workhorse. It’s got the power to tow anything we need, the space to haul everything we need, and honestly, just a comfortable ride. We've needed something reliable for getting the kids to school and activities, and this truck delivers.
|
||||
|

### A Bit of Relief, and a Lot of Gratitude

||||
Honestly, it’s a huge relief to have these vehicle issues behind us. It was stressful not knowing if we’d make it to appointments or if a trip to the store would turn into an adventure. We are incredibly blessed to be able to address these issues and get ourselves back on solid ground.
|
||||
|
||||
It feels good to have vehicles we can depend on. And it’s a good reminder to appreciate the simple things, like a reliable way to get from point A to point B. Plus, it's fun to have a classic truck and a modern workhorse in the fleet. We are looking forward to having something more capable than the Jeep in terms of towing and payload capacity.

Merry Christmas to all those we love and cherish so much! We hope this greeting finds you all well this holiday season and pray that God continues to bless you all with his unending love.

We wanted to write and give everyone a little update on the crazy and exciting events that have taken place in our lives this year!
|
||||
|
||||
As most of you know either from facebook pictures or word of mouth we were fortunate to buy a new boat at the beginning of the year, Coconutz! She is a 1991 Falmouth Cutter designed by the late Lyle Hess, a brilliant craftsman and world renowned boat designer. We had walked past her daily stopping to admiring her beautiful seaworthy lines and adventurous attributes. We fell in love and on April 17th she became a permanent part of our life and our new home at 22 feet on deck!
|
||||
|
||||
As you can imagine she was not ready to sail right away, but with new head sails, repair to the bowsprit, new bottom paint and running rigging hand spliced by Eric she was ready to go! October we embarked on our first ‘shake down’ cruise to Santa Catalina Island. We were excited to finally be out in the open water after months of preparation. It was surreal sailing away from land into total darkness the night we left, but we were soon greeted by a pod of energetic dolphins playing in the biol-luminescent algae on the bow of Coconutz! We loved everything about Catalina and the other cruising folks we me there! We had a blast hiking, snorkeling and exploring the island!

||||
|
||||
We can’t wait to plan our next trip and adventure. We are hoping to leave long term in the next two years if it’s in God’s will. Eric can’t wait to use photography to capture thought provoking images from abroad and use them to stir other heart’s to action for a cause greater than themselves. I am hoping to use the skills I have been learning as a RN to bring first aid and health education to impoverished people in need. At this time our plans are to first travel south to Mexico and continue on from there where we feel the need is most great. We would love to one day see fleets of sailboats bringing aid and assistance to coastal cities devastated by disasters.

||||
|
||||
As for right now we are having a great time living hear in San Diego, and learning more and more about sailing, cruising and living simply! We love visitors so anytime come out and see us and we’ll go beaching it and sailing! We love you all so very much and so happy God has blessed us with the family and friends we have! Thank you all for being so supportive and for the showing of prayers I know we receive daily!

A few weeks ago we were fortunate to spend a few days with Kyle, Steph, Cati and the kids! It was a blast playing in the waves and the sand with these adventures spirits! It was Kyle and Steph’s first time visiting us here in San Diego,, also there first time being back since their honeymoon 11 years ago at Hotel Del! It was awesome spending time with the kids and seeing the unique personalities God is give to each one of them. Had such a fun time hanging at the Captain’s Quarters here at the marina and flying Kyle’s trainer kit for surfing! Thank you guys for an awesome time!

I love tea very much, especially Chai tea. I have tried hard to be

a coffee drinker, loving the smell and spending my time in coffee

shops. Seems the drink of choice for most people, but

I find over and over that I can’t get past it’s strong bitter flavor, not
|
||||
|
||||
to mention the stomachache that follows shortly behind me finishing
|
||||
|
||||
a cup. I do drink one cup per week (Saturday morning), but this cup
|
||||
|
||||
is normally lased with a good deal of Bailey’s Irish cream!
|
||||
|
||||
Chai and green tea are normally my drink of choice. I have become
|
||||
|
||||
a bit of a Chai connoisseur and finally this week was able to make
|
||||
|
||||
my first batch of homemade Chai! Drinking it brought me back to
|
||||
|
||||
The Lux coffee house ([http://www.luxcoffee.com](https://href.li/?http://www.luxcoffee.com/)) in downtown Phoenix
|
||||
|
||||
who brewed some of the best I have ever tasted! So different then the
|
||||
|
||||
watered down, highly sweet mess you get from Starbuck’s or any coffee
|
||||
|
||||
shop too lazy to brew a few spices.
|
||||
|
||||
Here is the recipe. I tweaked it to my taste but there are lots of different
|
||||
|
||||
variations out there.
|
||||
|
||||
## *Ingredients*
|
||||
|
||||
*Makes 2 servings*
|
||||
|
||||
- 1 teaspoon [fennel seeds](https://href.li/?http://www.foodterms.com/encyclopedia/fennel-seed/index.html)

- 6-8 green cardamom pods
|
||||
- 15-20 whole cloves
|
||||
- 1 [cinnamon](https://href.li/?http://www.foodterms.com/encyclopedia/cinnamon/index.html) stick (broken up)

- 2-3 pieces ginger root, peeled, thinly sliced
|
||||
- 2 Star Anise
|
||||
- 2 cups water
|
||||
- 2 teaspoons black tea ([Darjeeling](https://href.li/?http://www.foodterms.com/encyclopedia/darjeeling-tea/index.html) is the best)

||||
- Sweeten to your taste (4 tablespoons brown sugar, honey or

||||
- 1 cup whole milk
|
||||
|
||||
## *Directions*

In a small saucepan, combine the water, cardamom, ginger,

cinnamon stick, fennel and star anise. Bring the mixture to a boil

|

then lower the heat and simmer for a few minutes until the mixture

is fragrant. Add the milk and tea leaves, and simmer for another

minute then turn off the heat and let steep for 2 minutes. Pour into

a cup through a fine mesh sieve. Discard the leaves and spices.

# Life without paper
|
||||
|
||||
Living on a boat with limited space one of the things we are learning to have to do with out is paper. Here is how we are using technology to eliminate paper from our lives.
|
||||
|
||||
## Banking
|
||||
|
||||
We pay all our bills online and that eliminates the need for paper checks, envelopes and stamps. We have also requested our bills be e-mailed to us rather than mailed this eliminates more superfluous paper mess as well. Many companies will do this for you they usually call it paperless billing or green billing. It saves them money and saves you time.
|
||||
|
||||
Another way we eliminate paper with our money is that we do all of our budgeting online with mint.com this eliminates the need to save receipts and all that non-sense.
|
||||
|
||||
## Books
|
||||
|
||||
When ever we can we try to buy the e-book version of a book or barrow a book instead of buying it. Still this is an area we struggle with because we love books and there are some that just deserve a spot on the shelf. So far the kindle has worked out great all tho there are a few caveats. The first is we have to buy books that we already own to get them in the kindle format. The Second is that the selection of kindle formated books is still limited.

## Mail
|
||||
|
||||
We try to un subscribe from all non a lot mail but despite that we sill get loads junk mail. So we sort all the mail at the mailbox and everything that’s not a must have gets read right there and then put in the recycling bin. This eliminates a huge amount of paper that comes in.

## Calendars
|
||||
|
||||
I think this goes with out saying but paper calendars are archaic, we have been using iCal that is syncs to MobileMe and its been working great for us No scheduling conflicts, no mess, no fuss.

||||
|
||||
## Notes and lists
|
||||
|
||||
For a long time I have kept my trusty journal right at my side for note taking, list making and writing however ever since I bought an iPhone I have been trying to use that instead. It has taken a while to get used to and I have tried many apps to help the process but here is what I found works the best. I use [Simple-Note](https://href.li/?http://simplenoteapp.com/) for day-to-day stuff bust once a note is no longed need I move it o my archive in Yojimbo. I will also scan papers in to [Yojimbo](https://href.li/?http://www.barebones.com/products/yojimbo/) and store assorted clippings from around the web right into Yojimbo instead of printing them out. The mac has a print to PDF function that is vital to the paperless lifestyle. Jaime uses [Evernote](https://href.li/?http://www.evernote.com/) and that works great for her but I am a bit too much of a power user and would feel too limited with the space restrictions of the free account and I just can’t justify paying monthly for a service that just sits there holding my data, when I can use my own hard drive to do it for free.

|
||||
I use Simple-Note to capture all my writing and for jotting down quick notes it’s really light-weight and starts up fast and that’s extremely important. The other great ting about Simple-Note is that it syncs to the web and then back to my mac that means I have 3 copies of my notes that I can get access to any where and all keep in sync.

||||
|
||||
For to-do lists I have tries just about everything I started with [Ominfocus](https://href.li/?http://www.omnigroup.com/products/omnifocus/) and found that too bloated then I started using [TheHitList](https://href.li/?http://www.potionfactory.com/thehitlist/) which worked well for a while but it’s got a lit of bugs that need to be worked out and the developer has seemed to have halted all development on the project plus there was no iPhone app. And that leads me to what I now use; [TaskPaper](https://href.li/?http://www.hogbaysoftware.com/products/taskpaper) it’s about as simple as you can get just a simple txt file for storing to-dos with some simple syntax for formatting like a colon for projects a dash for list. Items and the at sign for tags, is simple fast and it syncs to the iPhone.

|
||||
For journaling I use [Momento](https://href.li/?http://www.momentoapp.com/) for the iPhone it’s a neat little app that grabs your social network updates and puts them in with your journal entries.

|
||||
## Essential documents
|
||||
|
||||
Despite as hard as we try there will always be some paper documents we just can’t live without. Among those are birth certificates, titles, pass ports, tax documents, health record, diplomas, etc. For those we keep a small filing folder that is neatly organized, with only the necessary otherwise it’s likely to get filled up withe junk that we don’t need to store or we can store digitally.

I replaced the lifelines on Coconutz with 3 Strand Dacron (polyester)
|
||||
|
||||
The old PVC coated wire was suffering from corrosion in some spots and I was afraid of them snapping at the worst possible time.
|
||||
|
||||
The new life lines are a much simpler setup and I can inspect them for chafe and wear more easily. Also the whole setup is much cheaper and I was able to easily splice the line my self.
|
||||

The reason I seized the end with the pelican hook was because I was afraid the line would stretch beyond what I could take up with the turnbuckle, so once the line is a little more seasoned I will take out the slack and reset the turnbuckle and then put in a shackle splice.

Today I will be giving my ‘two weeks notices’ at my work. I have been working at a small 95 bed skilled nursing facility/rehab for a year and nine months now, Windsor Garden of S.D. It is located within walking distance from us, just a mile away from our marina. I often would walk or long-board to work. It was my first job as a registered nurse. While I was in school I said I would never-ever work a skilled nursing facility. I thought it would be sad, morbid, smelly etc, etc. But, I was very glad to be wrong about this.
|

|
||||
Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t easy, and I commend those who have made it their long term career. Think of having to go through 4 DONs in less than 2 years (aka: your boss, director of nursing, all different, all of which difficult to work with), passing medications to 42+ patient’s in a two hour time block because another nurse decided to call-in, patients then refusing those meds, dealing with angry family members and doctors, mounds of paperwork (ALL done by hand), new admissions (a two or more hour process, at 10pm an hour before you are getting off), and more responsibility on your shouldered than you could ever imagine! Most months I would say to myself, “this is it, I am done. I can’t handle it any more."But, even through all the tough times and craziness God gave me a bright light.
|
||||
|
||||
I call them a bright light because that is exactly what they are! Mark, Kris, Myrna, Camilla, Mario, Michelle, and Kelly. Those nurses, that in the mist of a crazy night at work would bring a smile to my face, a joke, feed me (thanks Myrna an Kris!), help me finish paperwork, and just make an other wise terrible situation into a wonderfully fun time. I would not have stayed at this facility as long as I did if it hadn’t been for these lovely people! After working with them for so long it is hard to imagine working anywhere else without them. I know they are all very happy for me and excited for my opportunity to move on, but it’s still going to be hard to leave them.
|
||||
|
||||
I really want people to know that although a nursing home may seem a very sad place to work, it is full of beautiful fun resident’s that will brighten your day sometimes in the most obscure and funny ways! The older population have so much knowledge and wisdom that will become lost/extinct if people don’t care to ask questions and find it. If you don’t ask you would never know that they have traveled to more places in the world than you can shake a stick at, or that they had 14 children and have out lived half of them, or that they fought battles in WWII and Vietnam. I want to compare it with the beginning of the movies "Water for Elephants,” “Titanic,” and “The Note Book.” All of which have scenes where there is an older character reminiscing about their beautiful past. It is a bit like that,but you’re not watching it on a screen.
|
||||
|
||||
The good news is I will still be working with the elderly populations mainly living in nursing homes on the South Bay of San Diego. I was formally offered a position with San Diego Hospice. I am so excited about this! There are some of you that have already voiced some concerns about working with Hospice. Yes, it is still not an easy field, but no job as a nurse will be “easy”. I will be working Mon- Fri. 8-5pm and have weekends free. I start a month of training on Feb. 13th! I am so excited knowing this could be a very good fit for me and my personality. I also can’t wait to hand over my letter of resignation, it’s going to be bitter-sweet, but a little more sweet than bitter! So my last day of work at Windsor will be Feb.10th, 2012.
